This is the a USA made Bell & Howell manual threading model which is smaller, lighter, and more portable than usual. The sound output is of excellent quality through a large built-in magnetic coil speaker. The case is ultra tough fibreglass. The lens is a Bell & Howell 2" inch (51 mm.) f/1.4. It has a fully transistorised amplifier. Includes powerful internal speaker built in, or with external speaker via jack socket. The 535 TE has a powerful 1000 Watt quartz lamp; volume and treble controls.

Here is the actual 535 projector illustrated working above. The film path has a 3 claw pull down which readily negotiates joins and splices in older prints. Accomodates 50 ~ cycles 240/250 volts AC operation. The lamp is easily obtainable modern 250 v 1000 w. quartz with integral reflector providing a brilliant picture. The lens optics and condenser are bright and clear. The projector mechanism has a metalic mat grey finish. (There is some small wear and scuffing overall from use). The case and cover is of indestructable lightweight glass fibre. The spool arms extend to accommodate reels of up to 2000' ft. capacity. It has a fast and strong rewind and reliable take- up. Optical Sound is exceptionally sharp and clear. This model incorporates a large balanced flywheel behind the sound drum for best sound quality. Silent (18 fps) speed change is facilitated by a lever. The film path is readily accessible for manual threading or unthreading if required. The spool arms extend to accommodate reels of up to 2000' ft. capacity.

This model version has an unusual trip switch cutout and speaker jack socket mounted on the case back.
